On March 18–19, 2026, Azerbaijan will host the European Regional Symposium of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The event in Baku will replace WADA’s annual traditional symposium and will be part of the regional events held across four continents, Idman.biz reports.
The Baku symposium will bring together European anti-doping organizations, government representatives, international sports bodies, athletes, and their representatives. The main purpose of the event is to discuss regional challenges related to the implementation of the new World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, which will come into effect in 2027.
The symposium will focus on updates regarding changes to the World Anti-Doping Code and Standards, the responsibilities of national anti-doping organizations, and collaborative efforts among stakeholders. Presentations based on real-life experiences, interactive sessions, and discussions involving athletes and government officials will also be held. Additionally, topics such as education, capacity building, and strengthening partnerships will be addressed.
The symposium will serve as an important platform for knowledge and experience sharing for regional countries. As part of the program supporting the implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code, the event will make a significant contribution to the future development of anti-doping activities in the European region.
Detailed information about the program and registration will be announced in the coming months.
