Almaty to build modern 35,000-seat stadium

An international-level modern stadium is planned to be built in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The city administration informed the local media about the project, Idman.biz reports.

The new facility is planned to cover an area of approximately 15 hectares. The project site will become a key transport and logistics hub in the city, providing convenience for spectators and visitors.

The stadium will meet UEFA’s 4th category standards and will have a capacity of 35,000 spectators.

The project will also include training facilities, fan relaxation zones, and modern security systems. Construction is expected to begin next year.

The Almaty Central Stadium, built 65 years ago, will be preserved and renovated, taking into account its athletics infrastructure.

Today the Central Stadium will host the UEFA Champions League play-off match between Kairat and Celtic.
