Turkiye and Kuwait join III CIS Games in Azerbaijan

There has been a change in the number of countries participating in the III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan.

Turkiye and Kuwait have now confirmed their participation in the event, Idman.biz reports.

They will send 38 and 6 athletes, respectively. With this, the total number of countries participating in the Games in Azerbaijan has risen to 10. Previously, the host country Azerbaijan, along with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, had confirmed their participation in the CIS Games. These teams will be represented by 1,605 athletes and 2,330 officials.

In the initial phase, only delegations from CIS countries are registered. In the second phase, registration is conducted for delegations from non-CIS countries participating in the Games by special invitation. Overall, around 5,500 participants from 23 countries are expected to take part in the Games.

The III CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 in seven cities of Azerbaijan – Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The event will serve as a celebration of friendship, unity, and the spirit of sports among young athletes and will become one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region.
