Azerbaijan has increased its total medal count at all Universiades it has participated in to 53.
Our athletes have won 15 gold, 16 silver, and 22 bronze medals so far at the University Games, Idman.biz reports.
At the recently concluded Universiade in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, the Azerbaijani team earned 2 gold and 2 silver medals, finishing 24th overall.
In rhythmic gymnastics group routines, our team, Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Aghalarzada, Darya Sorokina, Kamila Aliyeva, and Yelyzaveta Luzan, secured two victories and one second place. The second silver medal was won by judoka Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg).
