The flag of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) has been handed over to the organizers of the 2027 Universiade, which will be held in Chuncheon, South Korea.
According to special correspondent of Idman.biz in Germany, the ceremony took place during the closing event of the Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
South Korea will host the multiforum for the fourth time, which is held every two years.
At the Universiade held in Germany, Azerbaijan won two gold and two silver medals, placing 24th in the overall standings. The rhythmic gymnastics group won two gold medals and also claimed silver. Judoka Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) was also awarded a silver medal.
