Azerbaijan ranks 16th in medal standings at Universiade in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region
According to special correspondent of Idman.biz in Germany, Azerbaijan’s group rhythmic gymnastics team (Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Aghalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamila Aliyeva, and Yelyzaveta Luzan) has secured two gold and one silver medal, placing the country ahead of Spain, France, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Georgia, Denmark, and many other nations in the standings.
Considering that the judo competitions are still ongoing, the number of medals in the team’s tally may increase today.
The USA currently leads the medal table with 28 gold, 20 silver, and 25 bronze medals. China ranks second (21 gold, 21 silver, 7 bronze), while Japan (15-9-16) has overtaken South Korea (14-7-19) to move into third place.
