Azerbaijan falls out of top 10 at Universiade in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region.
According to special correspondent of Idman.biz in Germany, the Azerbaijani team currently ranks 14th in the overall standings.
This result was made possible by the rhythmic gymnastics group, which claimed two gold and one silver medal. The team includes Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Aghalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva, and Yelyzaveta Luzan.
Four other teams – Hong Kong, Taiwan, Czech Republic, and Portugal – also have two gold medals each.
In the medal table, Azerbaijan ranks ahead of countries like Spain, France, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Georgia, Denmark, and many others.
The current leaders are the USA (28 gold, 20 silver, 24 bronze), followed by China (19-20-5) in second place, and South Korea (14-7-17) in third.
