Registration for delegations continues ahead of the 3rd CIS Games in Azerbaijan.
Turkmenistan has confirmed its participation in the upcoming 3rd CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan, registering 170 athletes for the event, Idman.biz reports.
With this confirmation, the number of countries officially joining the Games has risen to eight. Alongside host nation Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan had previously confirmed their participation. These teams will be represented by a total of 1,840 athletes and 2,666 delegates.
Initially, registration is open only to delegations from CIS member states. In the second phase, countries outside the CIS invited to the event will also be allowed to register. In total, around 5,500 participants from 23 countries are expected to take part.
The 3rd CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 across seven Azerbaijani cities, Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The competition is set to symbolize youth unity, friendship, and the spirit of sport, becoming one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region.
