Araz Musayev, a nine-time Muay Thai world champion, who was recently stabbed in Antalya, has made serious allegations involving the Head of Surakhani District Executive Authority, Adil Aliyev.
Musayev claimed in a video statement that the attack was carried out on the orders of Adil Aliyev, allegedly due to work-related issues between them, Idman.biz reports:
“They stabbed me on Adil Aliyev’s orders. We had problems over work before. He had taken unpleasant steps against me, and now this — hiring a hitman.”
These claims quickly sparked widespread discussion on social media and in the public sphere.
In a response to Musavat.com, Adil Aliyev firmly denied the accusations, calling them baseless slander:
“I have no connection to the incident. I first learned about it through the media. Araz Musayev’s attempt to manipulate public opinion while lying in a hospital bed is unacceptable. The crime scene and perpetrator are known. I am in Baku, focused on my work. My name has never been and cannot be linked to such matters.”
Aliyev added that Musayev was, in fact, exposing himself:
“The investigation hasn’t concluded yet. Why is he rushing to blame me? It seems like a deliberate attempt to divert the investigation. The truth will come out. We must wait for the official findings.”
On May 28, Araz Musayev was stabbed during an altercation between two groups in Antalya, Turkiye.
He underwent emergency surgery following the attack.
Two individuals suspected of involvement have been detained.
