During the IFMA U23 Muay Thai World Championship in the Kemer district of Antalya, Azerbaijan Muay Thai Federation President Araz Musayev was stabbed by two individuals.
Idman.biz, citing Unikal.az, reports that the attackers were identified as Azerbaijani citizens.
After the incident, the suspects attempted to flee to Antalya Airport by taxi but were apprehended by police upon arrival.
The attack took place at the Ataturk Sports Hall in Goynuk Municipality. Reports state that Musayev was stabbed by two individuals during the ongoing championship.
Following initial treatment by medical personnel at the venue, Musayev was rushed to Kemer State Hospital and later transferred to Antalya City Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His treatment is ongoing.
The investigation is being carried out under the coordination of the Kemer District Public Prosecutor’s Office.
