The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has officially announced the eligibility criteria for athletes participating in the World University Games, set to take place in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region.
Athletes eligible to compete must be between the ages of 18 and 25 as of December 31 of the event year, and must be nominated by their respective national university sports federations, Idman.biz reports.
The multi-sport event will be hosted across six German cities: Bochum, Essen, Duisburg, Mülheim an der Ruhr, and Hagen, all part of the Rhine-Ruhr region, as well as the capital city Berlin.
The Universiade is scheduled to take place from July 16 to 27, with over 8,500 student-athletes from more than 150 countries, including Azerbaijan, expected to compete across 18 disciplines.
