Christian Borel, lawyer for Olympic medalist and 10-time World Champion biathlete Julia Simon, has confirmed that the athlete will not appeal her six-month suspension, five of which are suspended, Idman.Biz reports.
“Julia Simon wants to put this whole story behind her. We calmly discussed the facts. The punishment was indeed necessary. Federation sanctions are often stricter than criminal ones, and we expected such a decision. We accept it. Now we will focus on sporting goals and therefore will not file an appeal. It’s hard to imagine that someone under suspension would be allowed to train on sporting equipment. In this regard, the sanction leaves some ambiguities. The French Ski Federation found itself between a rock and a hard place,” Borel told Ski-Nordique.
