A tragic incident occurred during a cricket training session in Australia, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Ben Austin.
Idman.Biz reports that the accident happened in Melbourne when a ball struck the young athlete in the neck. He was immediately taken to the hospital and placed on life support, but despite doctors’ efforts, he passed away the following day.
It is noted that Austin was wearing a protective helmet during the session, but it did not fully cover his throat area. Since 2023, such protective gear has been mandatory in Australian cricket.
