IOC sends condolences on passing of Azerbaijan NOC’s official

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has sent a letter of condolences on the passing of Mehman Kerimov, head of the International Programs Department at the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NOC), Idman.Biz reports, citing the organization’s press service.

In the letter, signed by James MacLeod, Director of the IOC Department for Relations with National Olympic Committees, Olympic Solidarity, and the Olympism365 Program, it was noted that Mehman Kerimov was an inspiring leader who dedicated his life to sport and education and made a significant contribution to promoting Olympic values.

“Through his work, many young people gained opportunities for learning, networking, and development. Leading the OCEP program and strengthening international cooperation, he left an indelible mark on the world of sport. His energy, generosity, and respect for people will always be remembered,” the letter stated.

In conclusion, the IOC representative expressed deep condolences to the family and loved ones of Mehman Kerimov and to the entire Azerbaijani Olympic community.
