Azerbaijani Olympic leaders honored at AOA VII congress in Prague

The VII Congress of the European Olympic Academy (EOA) was held in Prague, the Czech Republic.

According to Idman.Biz, on the final day of the congress, Agajan Abiyev, president of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Academy, was awarded a special prize by the EOA.

It should be noted that Jamaladdin Rahmanov, head of the General Department of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and scientific secretary of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Academy, also participated in the congress.

During the sessions of the congress, topics such as Olympic education, gender equality and participation rights in women’s sports, the preservation and promotion of Olympic values, the European Olympic Academy’s (EOA) report, and other issues were discussed.

Additionally, joint working sessions and the presentation ceremony of the EOA Flame Award were held.

During the discussion of Olympic education and cultural matters, the contributions of Mehman Karimov, creator of the Olympic Culture and Education Program (OCEP) and head of the NOC’s International Programs Department, were highlighted. His memory was honored with a minute of silence.
