Azerbaijani MMA fighter Rafael Fiziev has shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Baku.
Fiziev appeared as a guest on the Podkat show, where he spoke about his mindset before the fight, Idman.biz reports.
"The octagon cage closes the same way, whether in the USA or Azerbaijan," he said. "What matters is stepping out of it as the winner, with blood and sweat."
Fiziev added that he doesn’t feel any pressure going into the fight. On the contrary, he’s motivated by the energy of fighting at home, in front of a local crowd, surrounded by close friends and loved ones.
The Azerbaijani fighter is set to face Chile’s Ignacio Bahamondes on June 21. That night, two other Azerbaijani fighters, Tofiq Musayev and Nazim Sadykhov, will also step into the octagon to represent the country.
