Kazakhstani fighter Azat "Qazaq" Maksum will step in for Kyoji Horiguchi at the upcoming UFC event in Baku, but he hasn’t fought since February 2024.
Maksum is set to face Russian fighter Tagir Ulanbekov at Baku Crystal Hall on June 21, Idman.biz reports.
Maksum made his UFC debut in 2023, defeating American Tyson Nam. In his next bout, however, he lost by decision to Charles Johnson. His scheduled fight against American C.J. Vergara in August 2024 was canceled due to injuries sustained by both fighters.
The UFC tournament in Baku will be held on June 21.
