"Two hours before the fight, we were informed it wouldn't take place," says Shahriyar Abbasov, the personal coach of MMA fighter Nariman Abbasov, in an interview with Idman.biz.
Abbasov commented on the cancellation of Nariman Abbasov's fight (77 kg) at the "Hype Fighting Championship" in Moscow, Russia. He mentioned that they were not given a clear reason for the postponement: "We’re already on our way back to Azerbaijan. The arena was filled with a crowd, possibly close to 15,000 people. As you know, Russia is currently in a state of war, and I believe they decided to cancel the event for safety reasons due to the large crowd size. That's just my assumption; we haven't received full details yet."
He added that they expect to receive information soon about the new date for the fight: "Of course, the fight isn’t canceled permanently—it will happen. We’ll likely receive an update sometime today."
The event, held at "Live Hall" in Moscow, was reportedly stopped by Russian authorities.
