A new photo of former UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria has emerged 76 days after his fight against Justin Gaethje.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the image circulating on social media shows the Spanish fighter 76 days after his defeat to the American at UFC Freedom 250.
Topuria appears to have recovered significantly compared with his condition immediately after the bout, when his face was badly swollen and visibly damaged. However, his right eye still does not appear to open fully.
Gaethje defeated Topuria at the White House event in June after the fight was stopped between the fourth and fifth rounds, taking the UFC lightweight championship from him.
Following the bout, it was reported that Topuria had suffered fractures to both orbital bones as well as his nose.
As a result of the TKO defeat, Topuria was handed a mandatory 60-day suspension and a 180-day medical suspension.
Gaethje was also given a 180-day medical suspension and was required to undergo examinations on his right wrist and left knee.
