Brazilian MMA fighter Carlos Prates has made a surprise prediction for the upcoming bout between Islam Makhachev and Ian Garry at UFC 330.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Prates, who competes in the welterweight division, said in a video published by UFC that he expects the Irishman to defeat Makhachev.
“At UFC 330, Ian Garry will beat Makhachev by decision. I don’t know whether it will be a unanimous or split decision, but I think the fight will definitely go to the judges’ scorecards,” Prates said.
Interestingly, Prates has previously faced Garry. The Brazilian lost to the Irishman by decision in April 2025.
The welterweight title fight between Makhachev and Garry will headline UFC 330 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Makhachev is the reigning UFC welterweight champion and is currently on a 16-fight winning streak.
The event will take place on August 15.
