Rafael Fiziev has responded to a callout from French opponent Fares Ziam, fuelling speculation over a possible bout in Baku later this year.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Fiziev reacted to Ziam’s social media post with a confident and characteristically playful message.
“Be careful what you wish for — and bring good honey for tea, you will be warmly welcomed in Baku,” said Fiziev, also known as “Ataman”.
Ziam quickly replied, “100%, brother,” confirming his readiness for the fight. He later posted a video of himself shadow boxing in a beekeeper suit beside beehives, adding a direct message to Fiziev: “Are you ready?”
The potential clash, which could take place in Baku in June, has already attracted significant attention among MMA fans, particularly given the growing interest in hosting major UFC events in Azerbaijan.
Ziam last fought in December, when he defeated Azerbaijani fighter Nazim Sadykhov by technical knockout, adding further intrigue to a possible showdown with Fiziev on home soil.
