Aghakishiyev and Yusifli exit early as Guliyev and Alasgarov secure bronze medals - UPDATED

The World Championship for junior judokas continues in Sofia, Bulgaria.

On the third day of the competition, two more athletes from the Azerbaijani national team joined the fight. Both of them were eliminated before reaching the later rounds, Idman.biz reports.

Boys – 73 kg
Mahammad Aghakishiyev defeated Atkhan Bichoev (IJF) in the round of 32 but then lost to Veljko Varnicic (Serbia).

Girls – 57 kg
Samaya Yusifli lost to Nonoka Yamakawa (Japan) in the round of 32.

So far at the World Championship, Anar Quliyev (50 kg) and Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg) have won bronze medals for Azerbaijan. The individual competition will conclude on August 30, followed by the mixed team event the next day.
