At the “International Black Sea Judo Championship” in Samsun, Turkiye, Nakhchivan judokas won 8 medals.
The international competition featured 1 girl and 8 boys from the Nakhchivan Children and Youth Sports School under the guidance of coach Khayal Gahramanov, Idman.biz reports.
Of them, 6 won gold, 1 won silver, and 1 won bronze. Based on the number of medals earned, the Azerbaijani representatives ranked first in the U-13 age group and third in the U-15 category.
In the competition, Ilham Najafov (2013–2014, 23 kg), Shahin Guliyev (2013–2014, 26 kg), Ziya Asadli (2013–2014, 30 kg), Ayaz Aliyev (2013–2014, 30 kg), Parvin Ismayilov (2013–2014, 38 kg), and Yusif Asadli (2010–2011, 55 kg) defeated all their opponents to claim gold medals.
Subhan Akbarov (2013–2014, 23 kg) took silver, while Mursal Gafarli (2013–2014, 26 kg) earned bronze.
