The roster of the Azerbaijani national team participating in the World Judo Championship for juniors in Sofia, Bulgaria, from August 27–31, has been announced.
Our team will compete in individual events across 10 weight categories with 15 athletes (8 boys and 7 girls), Idman.biz reports.
On the final day of the tournament, our judokas will also take part in the mixed team competition.
The coaching staff has included Gulshan Huseynova, Khadija Abdullayeva (both 44 kg), Narmin Aghamirzazade, Leyla Alakbarova (both 48 kg), Aysun Mammadova (52 kg), Samaya Yusifli (57 kg), Masuma Mammadli (70 kg), Anar Guliyev, Rza Khalilli (both 50 kg), Rasul Alizada, Mahammadali Husiyev (both 55 kg), Zeyd Alasgarov, Royal Gayibov (both 60 kg), Mahammad Aghakishiyev (73 kg), and Subhan Akhundov (+90 kg).
In the mixed team event, Amin Mehdiyev will represent Azerbaijan in the 81 kg category.
593 athletes (313 boys and 280 girls) from 75 countries will compete in the World Championship.
