The European Judo Hopes Tournament in Baku will last two days.
Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that Deputy Secretary General and Sports Director of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation Kamran Talibov stated this during a media briefing at the European Judo Hopes Tournament held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
He mentioned that in addition to the competitions, seminars would also be organized over the two days: “Seminars will be held for children under the ages of 13 and 15. The main purpose of the tournament is the organization of these seminars. Experts from Japan, Serbia, and Azerbaijan are participating here. During the seminars, young judokas are taught physical and technical skills. This tournament also serves as a kind of festival for the children.”
The sports director also reminded that Azerbaijani specialists have participated in the European Judo Hopes Tournaments held in other countries.
The international competition features 436 athletes (364 boys and 72 girls) from 88 clubs representing 12 countries.
Winners and medalists in 33 weight categories will be determined in the U-13 and U-15 age groups.
