Azerbaijan’s national kata judo team is intensifying preparations for the upcoming European Championship.
10 athletes have been gathered at the National Training Camp Center as part of their buildup, Idman.biz reports.
The judokas are training under the supervision of Mehmet Yılmaz, Education Director of the Turkish Judo Federation and a 6th Dan black belt.
The European Championship will take place in Riga, Latvia, from May 31 to June 1.
Azerbaijan will be represented by 4 athletes competing in the “nage-no-kata” and “katame-no-kata” disciplines.
Before the competition, from May 28–30, the team will also attend the Kodokan Kata Seminar and Examination in Riga.
