Azerbaijan has dropped to sixth place in the overall standings of the World Judo Tour.
This shift comes after the results of the Grand Slam in Dushanbe, where Team Azerbaijan had previously climbed to fifth following the Grand Slam in Astana, Idman.biz reports.
However, China has now overtaken Azerbaijan.
Despite both countries having four gold and four silver medals, China has the edge in bronze medals, winning six compared to Azerbaijan’s five.
Since the beginning of the year, Azerbaijani judokas have won a total of four gold, four silver, and five bronze medals across World Tour events.
Japan currently tops the rankings with 22 gold, 19 silver, and 19 bronze medals. In second place are athletes competing under the IJF flag (12-10-11), followed by France in third (11-9-20).
