The International Judo Federation’s (IJF) overall ranking list includes the standings of both male and female world ranking leaders, Idman.biz reports.
The Azerbaijani judoka holds second place with 6,544 points.
This is the highest ranking among male competitors, and in the overall standings, Heydarov trails only Olympic champion Christa Deguchi (Canada, 7,300 points). Two-time Olympic medalist Amandine Buchard has climbed to third place with 6,200 points.
Another of Azerbaijan’s Olympic champions, Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg), ranks fifth with 6,046 points.
