The next Judo Grand Slam tournament will take place without the participation of Azerbaijan’s men’s national team.
Although the team had initially applied to compete in the Astana stage of the World Tour (May 9–11), the preparation plan was later changed, Idman.biz reports.
Instead, the Azerbaijani judokas will head to Benidorm, Spain, to participate in a training camp held under the auspices of the European Judo Union (EJU) from May 19–23.
Three athletes will represent Azerbaijan at the Astana Grand Slam: Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (52 kg), and Fidan Alizada (57 kg).
