Azerbaijani judoka Farid Rzazade has become a world champion among cadets.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Rzazade won the gold medal in the 50 kg weight category on the opening day of the World Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
On his way to the final, the Azerbaijani judoka defeated Suleyman Dogru of Türkiye, Bekaris Kudaybergen of Kazakhstan and Artur Bonato of Brazil.
In the gold medal contest, Rzazade faced Kazakhstan's Adilzhan Nurbek and secured another victory to take the top step of the podium and become world champion.
Three more Azerbaijani judokas are scheduled to compete at the World Championships today.
