Olympic judo champion Zelim Kotsoiev has summed up his performances in 2025.
According to İdman.Biz, citing Azertag, Kotsoiev admitted that the year turned out to be a challenging one. “I devoted most of my time after the Olympics to rehabilitation. Nevertheless, I am glad that I managed to win medals at the European and World Championships,” the athlete noted.
Speaking about the most difficult moment of the year, the judoka highlighted the final of the Islamic Solidarity Games. “I was controlling the bout and leading on points, but in the final seconds, I made a mistake. That was the biggest disappointment of the year,” Kotsoiev said.
Kotsoiev named the World Championships in Baku as his main goal for 2026. “I have already started my preparation. The injuries are behind me, and I feel good. I want to approach the home World Championships in optimal shape,” the judoka stated.
