Today, at the Grand Slam judo tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan’s athletes Hidayat Heydarov and Rashid Mammadaliyev were eliminated in the early stages.
According to Idman.biz, competing in the 73kg category, Hidayat Heydarov lost in the Round of 16 to Tajikistan’s Muhiddin Asadulloyev.
In the same weight class, Rashid Mammadaliyev was defeated by the American Steven Boldbaatar in the Round of 32 with a yuko score, ending his tournament run early.

Today, at the Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov won his Round of 32 match in the 73kg weight category.
According to Idman.biz, Heydarov defeated fellow compatriot Adil Osmanov, who represents Moldova, in his first fight.
In the next round, the Round of 16, he will face Tajikistan’s Muhiddin Asadulloyev.
Another Azerbaijani competitor in the same weight category, Rashid Mammadaliyev, will face off against American Steven Boldbaatar.
The final block of the tournament is scheduled to start at 17:00 Baku time.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan’s representatives finished the first day of the competition without winning any medals.
