Three-time Olympic champion and seven-time world champion in artistic gymnastics Alexander Dityatin has passed away at the age of 68.
Idman.Biz, citing the website of the Herzen State Pedagogical University, reports that where he worked as a lecturer and head of the Department of Gymnastics and Fitness Technologies.
University rector Sergey Tarasov expressed his condolences to Dityatin’s family and loved ones.
Dityatin won three gold medals at the 1980 Olympic Games and numerous awards at World Championships. In 2004, he was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
