"We had enough chances, we were leading 1-0. One counterattack from the opponent, a handball, and a penalty episode. We were unlucky. The referee awarded a penalty, and we didn’t have enough time to score a second goal."
Idman.biz, citing Sportinfo.az, reports that Ukrainian national team player Georgiy Sudakov said this after the 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan in Baku.
The 23-year-old midfielder said it was difficult to analyze the match: "We were the dominant side, we had plenty of scoring chances, but we couldn’t take advantage of them. I don’t know what to say. Right now, it’s very hard to analyze the game."
Georgiy Sudakov scored Ukraine’s only goal, finding the net in the 51st minute.
