“Qarabag managed the game very well.”
These words were spoken to AZERTAC by Callum O'Dowda, a player of Hungary’s Ferencvaros, reflecting on their UEFA Champions League play-off match against Qarabag (aggregate result 4:5), in which they were eliminated, Idman.biz reports.
He noted that the Agdam club’s players were strong and technically superior: “That’s why we had to be more careful in defense. Qarabag truly played deservedly; they had everything planned. They moved the ball very quickly and intelligently, and built well-thought-out attacks. We had analyzed the opponent a lot, but individually the players were strong. They perform well both in the domestic league and in Europe. Qarabag is a good team.”
The 30-year-old midfielder of the Ireland national team also spoke about his team’s future goals: “We will continue our campaign in the Europa League. This tournament is important for us, and we must now focus on it.”
