Orkhan Aliyev: “I made the right decision for my career” – INTERVIEW

Orkhan Aliyev, who transferred to Kyrgyzstan’s Uzgen club during the summer break, spoke to Futbolinfo.az.

How is your adaptation process going at your new club?
The adaptation process is going well, I am almost fully adjusted.

What was the main reason for choosing “Uzgen”? Did you have other offers?
I had other offers, but I decided on “Uzgen.” I consulted with my agent, and we agreed this was the right choice. I believe it’s the right decision for my career.

You’ve already played your second match for “Uzgen.” What are your impressions of the games against “Alga” and “Talant”?
They were very important victories. As a team, we played well and deserved to win. I am working on myself to contribute even more to the team.

As a foreign player, you scored in two consecutive matches. What is your goal?
Scoring is always a great feeling. The main thing is that I helped my team. It motivates me, and I am working to score in upcoming matches. I hope to justify the trust of the coaching staff and those who believe in me. My main goal is to contribute as much as possible to the team and secure as many wins as possible. I always strive to show my best in every match.

Your departure from “Turan Tovuz” was somewhat unexpected. Was it due to limited playing time under Kurban Berdyev?
I was supposed to stay, but after receiving the offer, I discussed it with Berdyev, and he allowed me to leave. I also wanted the experience of playing abroad, which played a key role in my decision.

Did you know anything about the Kyrgyzstan league beforehand?
Yes. After researching, I saw that both the country and the league are developing. There are many football fans, and the interest in games is high.

What are your main plans for the near future regarding your career?
My main goal is to perform well and help my team. I also hope to receive offers from stronger clubs in the future.

After the foreign player limit was removed in our championship, local players get fewer chances, and even national team coach Fernando Santos mentioned he may prefer foreign players. Does this motivate you?
Absolutely, it’s a huge motivation for me. I would love to be called up to the national team. To achieve that, I work hard and aim to perform at a high level, regardless of the country I play in.
