Azerbaijan national team and Qarabag midfielder Aleksey Isayev responded to a question about whether Qarabag can be compared to Russia’s Premier League side Zenit.
According to Idman.biz, the 29-year-old footballer spoke to “Championat.”
– Is Qarabag Azerbaijan’s Zenit?
– At the moment, that’s exactly the case. In terms of infrastructure, everything here is at the highest level. We have our own base: two very high-quality pitches, a gym, and a pool. Everything necessary for the players is available.
Gurban Gurbanov is a legend and a great person. I hope he won’t be offended, but I’ll say it anyway: he is a giant of Azerbaijani football. He’s an example of what it means to be a real man. Every day we learn from him both on and off the field how to behave properly.
Isayev is a product of the Krasnoyarsk football school. Previously, he played for Enisey, Zenit-2, and Sabah.
