Everton midfielder Jack Grealish, whose transfer rights belong to Manchester City, has admitted that in recent years he hasn’t enjoyed football as much as before.
Grealish stood out with two assists in the Premier League’s second-round match against Brighton, Idman.biz reports.
Manchester Evening News quoted Grealish as saying: “I think over the last year or two, at times I kind of lost my love for football – not completely, but I just wasn’t enjoying it as much as I should have. Even at home, my family would point it out to me. It wasn’t because of anyone else, just something within myself.
But yes, I really do love football, and I want to wake up on match days feeling, ‘I can’t wait to get out there.’ Today I felt that again, and I hope it showed in my game.”
Grealish, who has been with Manchester City since 2021, will spend the 2025/2026 season on loan at Everton.
