Although the 34-year-old German midfielder of Turkish descent has a contract with the English club until June 2026, several European teams have shown interest in a possible transfer.
The rumors intensified after the events of the opening round of the English Premier League: in City’s 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton, Gundogan did not come onto the pitch and spent the full 90 minutes on the bench. This could be a signal that Pep Guardiola is ready to approve the experienced midfielder’s departure.
Last season, Ilkay Gundogan played 54 matches in all competitions at club level, scoring 5 goals and providing 8 assists. Transfermarkt values him at €5 million.
