Ramil Sheydayev is living his final days at Neftchi. The national team forward will soon part ways with the capital club.
Idman.biz, citing Futbolinfo.az, reports that Sheydayev now has the option to move to Turkiye.
In addition to Serik Belediyespor, several other lower-league clubs have shown interest in Ramil.
The forward, who still has a two-year contract with Neftchi, has realized he has no future at the club. Head coach Samir Abasov has made it clear that he will not rely on him. The national team player, who is expected to be sent to the reserve squad, does not want to accept this situation, so he has started filtering incoming offers.
Sheydayev earns over $40,000 per month at Neftchi. He had tried to stay because he knew he would not find such a lucrative contract elsewhere. However, aware that not playing would harm his career and national team prospects, he plans to leave for Turkiye after receiving some compensation from Neftchi.
With the transfer window closing soon, Ramil wants clarity on his future by the end of August. Therefore, he has resumed talks with Serik Belediyespor. Since the club’s owner is Azerbaijani, the transfer has a good chance of going through.
Ramil has previously played in Turkiye twice. He was at Trabzonspor in 2016-17 and spent the first half of 2024 at Kocaelispor.
