Real Madrid breaks 17-year unbeaten start record in La Liga

In the opening round of Spain’s La Liga, Real defeated Osasuna 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappe.

Idman.biz, citing Opta Sports, reports that the Madrid club has broken the Spanish championship record for the number of seasons starting without a defeat.

The capital club has not lost in the opening rounds of La Liga for 17 years. Real last lost at the start of a season in 2008/09 against Deportivo (1-2).

The club’s previous record for this indicator was 16 seasons between 1961 and 1977.
