A group of fans assaulted Arseniy Yershovich, a player of the Russian club “Russian Community Shelkovo,” during a match.
According to the Russian Federation’s Investigative Committee, the attack was captured on surveillance cameras, Idman.biz reports.
Suddenly, the crowd rushed at the player. Yershovich fell to the asphalt after receiving a blow to the jaw, hitting his head on the ground, and lost consciousness. Despite this, the crowd continued to beat him. The footballer was hospitalized with serious injuries and is reported to be in a coma.
Police have already detained three suspects. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.
The conflict arose after Yershovich scored a goal for his team in a match between local players and visiting players.
