In the first round of the Premier League, you drew 1-1 with Shamakhi. What can you say about the match?
Not the first, but the second half went the way we wanted. We managed to show our game after the break. We had completely taken control. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score the needed goal.
What was missing in order to score that needed goal?
Speaking for myself, I can say that luck was not on my side. I was very close to scoring in two moments. As I mentioned before, we have a good squad. The coaching staff is doing everything possible for the club’s development. Since it was the first match, we had a lot of shortcomings that we need to correct. I hope we will continue to improve.
In the next match, can we expect to see the second-half performance against Shamakhi from the very first minutes?
For the upcoming games, we need to maintain this tempo. If we play every match like we did in the last 25-30 minutes, we can understand each other better during episodes. I must clearly say that we have to improve in many areas. We are a new team. I know the fans want results from Neftchi. I hope that in the future we will work harder and deliver the results the team and the fans expect.
Should the fans expect three points from the match against Imishli?
Of course. It’s true that all matches are difficult at the start of the season. But we understand that we represent Neftchi. Especially if you play for this club, you have to realize the responsibility. I can say that I came to the best and biggest club in Azerbaijan. All matches are tough, but we are focused on winning three points, because we need them.
How is your adaptation process going at Neftchi?
Honestly, I feel good here. With the performance I showed in the second half, I can already say that I’ve adapted to the team. We must keep this level, continue to improve, and achieve the goals the club demands from us. We must support Neftchi as much as we can.
