Sunderland’s 23-year-old player Dennis Cirkin has reportedly agreed to represent the Azerbaijan national team.
Although the left-back was born in Ireland, he played for England’s youth and junior teams from 2018 to 2021, Idman.biz reports.
Since 2021, Cirkin has been playing for Sunderland, and a return to his former club Tottenham is reportedly under consideration. Last season, he scored 3 goals in 36 matches in England’s Championship division.
Cirkin’s father is originally from Turkiye’s Hatay region.
