– Do you have any knowledge about Azerbaijani football?
Honestly, I don’t have much detailed information. Right now, I’m trying to learn about your country’s culture and cuisine. I don’t have deep knowledge yet. In Azerbaijan, I’ve only been to Baku and Yevlakh. So far, I haven’t seen anything in the culture or cuisine that has surprised me. But compared to my own country, of course, I prefer Portuguese food more, because that’s where I grew up.
– There are quite a few Portuguese players in our Premier League. Did you exchange ideas with them before coming to Azerbaijan?
I’m in contact with some of them. We still talk today. There are even some who have played against me. We have regular conversations. They had given me some information about Azerbaijani football. I knew about your clubs’ performances in European competitions. They said good things about your football.
– You probably know “Qarabag” better, since they defeated Portugal’s “Braga”…
I’ve known “Qarabag” for 10 years. I have a lot of information about them. They’re a good team and have achieved significant results in Europe.
– What are your goals at “Karvan Yevlakh”?
I want to progress as much as possible. I aim to play in stronger leagues. The team has just been promoted to the Premier League. We need to take it step by step. Time will show how it will go.
– The team will be based in Yevlakh. Won’t it be difficult for you to live there?
Honestly, I haven’t had much chance to see Yevlakh. For now, I don’t know what kind of place it is. I don’t think it will be boring.
