Coach Vincent Kompany acknowledged the emotional aspect of losing a club stalwart so soon after Thomas Mueller’s MLS move, but emphasized the team’s focus on the new season. “King showed over the years what player he was,” Kompany said. “It is always emotional, but the priority is the squad here.”
Meanwhile, Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade’s potential transfer to Bayern remains stalled after the club rejected the latest offer.
