Kingsley Coman nears move to Saudi Arabia as Bayern prepares for Bundesliga kickoff

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, with transfer talks reportedly in their final stages, the German champions confirmed ahead of Saturday’s German SuperCup clash at VfB Stuttgart.

Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that Bayern sports director Christoph Freund noted the deal is not finalized, but if completed, Coman would leave after a decade at the club, where he won multiple domestic and international trophies, including the Champions League and Club World Cup.

Coach Vincent Kompany acknowledged the emotional aspect of losing a club stalwart so soon after Thomas Mueller’s MLS move, but emphasized the team’s focus on the new season. “King showed over the years what player he was,” Kompany said. “It is always emotional, but the priority is the squad here.”

Meanwhile, Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade’s potential transfer to Bayern remains stalled after the club rejected the latest offer. Freund stressed there is no new development and Woltemade will play for Stuttgart as contracted. Bayern now prepares to open their Bundesliga campaign against RB Leipzig next Friday.

The 29-year-old France international’s likely exit marks another significant change in Bayern’s squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.
