– The 2025/2026 season of the Azerbaijan Premier League is about to start. Is Shamakhi fully ready for the new season? Were you able to carry out an effective summer preparation?
– Yes, we are ready. We have prepared excellently for the new season. As the results of our friendly matches show, our preparation has been solid. I can confidently say that we have a strong team.
– In the first round, you will be visiting Neftchi. How do you assess your chances? Will you be able to start the league with a victory?
– I have respect for Neftchi, they are a good club and have also prepared well for the new season. But the first game is very important for us because it will set the direction for our campaign. We need to start the championship well. We are fully focused on the match against Neftchi and are ready for the challenge.
– Many players left Shamakhi this summer, while a number of new signings arrived. How have these changes affected your team? Has Shamakhi strengthened or weakened compared to previous seasons?
– We have a good squad. The coaching staff made excellent choices regarding the new transfers. Since the beginning of the preseason, we have been together every day, getting to know each other and how we play. That’s why I can say that Shamakhi is now stronger and fully prepared for the season.
– What will be your team’s goal for the new season? How high in the standings do you think you can compete?
– Of course, every new season has a target. This season, our main goal is to perform better than last season, and we will do our best to achieve it.
– After players like Brahim Konate and Leroy Mickels left, you will become one of the team’s main leaders. Will you be able to handle this responsibility?
– Absolutely, I can. As you know, Mickels and Konate had a good season last year. They are quality players. For me, this season is about showing my abilities. I already have experience in the Azerbaijan Premier League, so I am ready to have a good season and help my team earn points.
– There are many young local players in your team. Do you share your experience and knowledge with them during training?
– Yes, I have spoken with them. Each of them is a talented and good player. From what I’ve seen, they are motivated to win and have a good season. They are fully prepared for the competition, and I am happy for that.
