Luis Enrique: records and achievements

This year, the frontrunner for the world’s best football coach award is clear.

Luis Enrique has won five trophies in a single calendar year, marking the second time in his coaching career he has achieved this, Idman.biz reports.

The Spanish coach previously won La Liga, the Spanish Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup with Barcelona in 2015.

In 2025, Enrique achieved similar success with PSG, winning the Champions League, Ligue 1, the French Cup, the Champions League again, and most recently, the UEFA Super Cup. If Paris wins the Intercontinental Cup in December, his total trophies for the year would reach six.

Enrique also became the fifth coach to win the UEFA Super Cup with two or more different clubs. Before him, this was accomplished by Alex Ferguson (Aberdeen 1983, Manchester United 1991), Louis van Gaal (Ajax 1995, Barcelona 1997), Pep Guardiola (Barcelona 2009, 2011; Bayern 2013; Manchester City 2023), and Carlo Ancelotti (Milan 2003, 2007; Real Madrid 2014, 2022, 2024).

PSG, under Enrique, also staged a comeback in a match in which they were two goals down in the 84th minute, a feat achieved for the first time in 20 years. The last occurrence was in May 2005, when Sochaux drew 2-2, with goals in the 88th and 89th minutes saving the team from defeat.

The only downside in PSG’s UEFA Super Cup victory is that they failed to register a single shot on target in the first half against Tottenham, an event that has happened only five times in Enrique’s 119 matches as their coach.
