Qarabag is close to bringing back former player Owusu Kwabena, who recently left Hungary’s Ferencvaros.
Idman.biz, citing Teleqraf, reports that the Agdam club is negotiating to sign the Ghanaian forward, who left Qarabag in June 2022, as a free agent.
Reports indicate that negotiations, which began a few days ago, have already resulted in an agreement. Under the deal, Kwabena is expected to sign a two-year contract.
The centre-forward spent last season on loan at Turkiye’s Ankaragucu, scoring 9 goals in 16 appearances.
Owusu Kwabena previously played for Qarabag from 2020 to 2023. Transfermarkt values him at €400,000.
Qarabag will face Ferencvaros in the UEFA Champions League play-off stage. The first leg will take place on August 19 in Budapest, with the second leg scheduled for August 27 in Baku.
