Baboucarr Gaye, the goalkeeper of North Macedonia’s “Shkendija” club, commented on their defeat to “Qarabag” in the 3rd round of the Champions League qualifying stage in Baku (1:5, first leg – 0:1).
The goalkeeper shared his thoughts with Sportal.az, Idman.biz reports.
He spoke about the opponent’s strength: “I think ‘Qarabag’ deserved the victory. We scored first, but then we allowed the opponent to create many goal-scoring opportunities near our goal. ‘Qarabag’ converted some of them. Naturally, we hoped for a better result before the game, but we must admit they were stronger than us. Moreover, the atmosphere in the stadium greatly motivated ‘Qarabag’, and they came at us like a wave. I wish ‘Qarabag’ success in the next stage.”
